Rendition Concering Books Horrid Henry Tricks the Tooth Fairy (Horrid Henry Early Reader #26)

"Horrid Henry Tricks The Tooth Fairy" was the first short story amongst four in this book. This story was about how Horrid Henry is jealous when everyone else is losing a tooth and getting money from the tooth fairy so he tries to find a way to tick the tooth fairy into giving him some money which proves difficult. The second story " Horrid Henry's Wedding" is about when Horrid Henry is forced to be a page boy for his cousin's wedding. He is forced to wear a horrible, frilly costume and so tries to sabotage the day in revenge. The third story "Moody Margaret Moves In' is about when his hated classmate Margaret moves in for two weeks while her parents are on holiday. At first Mum and Dad don't believe that she is really moody but they quickly learn that Horrid Henry wasn't exaggerating. In this story one of Horrid Henry's pranks actually pleases Mum and Dad as Margaret's parents come home early after a fake telegram made by Horrid Henry. The final story "Horrid Henry's New Teacher" is about Horrid Henry's attempts to make his new scary teacher Mr Nerdon run away screaming. If Horrid Henry can do this he will win Rude Ralph's football due to a bet the two boys made about it.

I found my-self laughing out loud while reading this book and think that adults and children alike will enjoy reading it. It would be perfect as a year 2 class reader as the stories are short to keep the children engaged. It could be used as a base for a lot of work in literacy on alliteration, character and similes. The character's in this book are very vivid and well described. There are a lot of uses of adjectives also. The only negative of the book is that it is slightly dated (for example the use of telegrams instead of e-mail.) However the humor and characters mean this book can still be enjoyed and used in the classroom today.

It is good

This book is totally about Henry trying to trick the tooth fairy, but he never succeeds! It's partly interesting to me because it's the first Horrid Henry book I read, and also because one of my baby teeth has an adult tooth pushing it out. I would not trick the tooth fairy because I don't need to - I should lose my tooth soon. But I like to read about pranks!- M (7 yrs)

Omg it was so funny when mr nerd fainted đŸ˜‚It was funny if you like funny books this book is totally right for you I do not like funny books but I loved it!

I have no idea why Horrid Henry series is loved by many people on Goodreads. Henry is just a mean boy, not funny, not clever etc. I gave 2/5 just because the book is not didactic on the contrary of many examples of children literature.

Having first read this as a schoolchild, when I saw it on a shelf in the local library I picked it up again. I remember thinking of Henry's behaviour as funny and daring, whereas now I'd dread him being my child. The series is a good way to evoke children's imaginations.

I do so like this horrid little Henry and all the antics he gets up to. All of Henry's classmates have lost one more teeth, and Henry has not lost one yet. The main reason for Henry's dilemma about not having lost teeth yet, is that he would not be getting any money from the Tooth Fairy. Things go from back to worse when Perfect Peter; his annoying and oh so perfect brother, looses his first tooth. Henry decides to sneak into Peter's room one night to remove the tooth from under his pillow - so
