This is a wonderful tale with so much of nature interwoven into it. The writing is definitely for a younger audience, and for boys, so I am not exactly the target audience. However, it if packed full of adventure and such a love for nature and all things natural. I enjoyed reading it.Really good book for people who like the outdoors and adventure books. The genre of this book is adventure and mystery. It's about a kid who goes out int o the wild with his dog and canoe. The dominent impression is he's running away for his family because of problems in his house. The peope who would read this book is people who love to read adventure novals. This is a great book to read if you like to go into the wilderness. This book is kind of confussing in the beginning by the middle of
This was a very intriguing book. I would definitely recommend to to anyone that loves adventure. The beginning was a little bit slow but towards the end I was on the edge of my seat reading on to see what was going to happen next. It definitely had a spunk of adventure!!!

Although this book is in the youth section of a bookstore I discovered it to be very enjoyable as were all other of the Craighead-George books I have read. Each is like taking a minicouse in natural science - so much information is presented and woven into the story of the fictional characters that you digest the textbook type material without even realizing it.I got started reading her books in an effor to find reading material that would appeal to my teenage grandchildren.

Jack Hawkins sets out on a solo adventure in Ltle Possum for the Okefenokee Swamp. Besides the usual Snakes and Gators, Jack wrestles with double vision and swamp poltergeist. The author is one of my favorites and this nature exploration story will be added to my library.
Nice adventure story for kids. Young Jack spends lot of time alone on the Okefenokee Swamp and is very good at fending for himself, living off the land, fishing, etc. This is also one of those classic twin stories where Jack runs into his lookalike, Jake and they find they were separated at birth.
