Fabulous, Dahlings! Simply fabulous! This is my second book by this author and I'm just loving her writing style. The dialogue is superb. I especially love all the descriptions of the food. It makes it cozy and it also makes me verrrry hungry. I'm looking forward to reading the third book in this series.Loved this book. Right from the go this story dives in to our heroine making her escape from a unwanted marriage. Through out the story you watch the characters develop and see Lily learn to trust a bit more. And while there is a good deal of lust and sex involved in this book the author makes the back story interesting enough and develops the other characters to where there is more than just sex! And while its not quite the murder mystery it still keeps you captivated.
I wanted to like this book, but it just didn't hit the right spots. I had to skip through to find an interesting part. The big kicker though was being horribly disappointed with the heroine's hipocrisy about lies. She threw such an annoying fit over supposed "lies" when she'd been untruthful from the start.
56% through the book and it was alright, but Lily was beginning to get annoying with her "do I want him? I do but I mustn't. Hes forgotten about me, I should do the same. Oh what should I do?" OMG that was so frustrating. Ethan asked her she said no, he respected her decision(at first)and left her alone, and shes over there whining and being annoying. Then she accepts to sleep with him and they're living a happy life both having fallen in love but afraid the other doesn't feel the same... that
An enjoyable read, but not particularly unique. Some elements from the previous novel were re-used, and the story seemed a little too predictable. There were refreshing developments, however. Lily quickly became one of my favourite Regency heroines, and Ethan was a ray of sunshine, largely because he did not undergo a personality transplant as he recognised his feelings for Lily and acted on them. One of the stupidest, most dull historical romances I have read. I had high hopes at the beginning - heroine making a daring and adventurous escape from an imminent and horrible marriage.
