Unspeakable
Born deaf, lately widowed, Anna Corbett fights to keep the ranch that is her son's birthright, unaware that she is at the center of Herbold's horrific scheme--and that her world of self-imposed isolation is about to explode...
Drifter Jack Sawyer arrives at Anna's ranch asking for work, hoping to protect the innocent woman and her son from Herbold's rage. But Sawyer can't outrun the secrets that stalk him--or the day of reckoning awaiting them all...
The one thing that I love about Sandra's writing is when she ends a chapter in suspense and sometimes doesn't start the next chapter on what is about to happen. Some tense parts had you thinking that you knew the character but suddenly that was changed as you kept reading.Sandra had me falling in love with a relationship that blossoms towards the end of the book. I felt like I was a character standing right there watching this intense love unfold. She had me encapsulated in the tangled
Violent ... but it's not overly descriptive. The psychopathic bad guy is one sick puppy, but don't let that put you off - this is a damn good read.

This was a reread for me and I loved it this time as much as I did the first time I read it. It's a great romantic suspense with it being heavier on the suspense than romance. Anna (h) is a widow with a young son living on her father in laws ranch in Texas. She had married the man she loved and was ready to have her HEA, and then he joined the army. She supported this decision and stood by him through it all. When he came home from Dessert Storm he was one who came down with the mysterious
Another fantastic romantic suspense from the master Sandra Brown, slowly building up the twists and turns and possible scenarios to an explosive finish I never saw coming. 2016 was the year I discovered this author and she never disappoints with not one book less than a 4 star read so far!!
Too slow. I just skimmed towards the end.But the bad guys. They were very conniving and cruel. Their POVs were horrific.
I put off reading this one for a long time as I saw some low reviews for it. I ended up really liking it. Carl Herbold has escaped from prison and he is heading back to Brewer County, hell bent on revenge. What a nasty character he was.Born deaf, lately widowed, Anna Corbett fights to keep the ranch that is her son's birthright, unaware that she is at the center of Herbold's horrific scheme. She lives a solitary life, with her son and father-in-law. But a handsome stranger arrives at the farm
