The Mystery in the Old Attic (The Boxcar Children Special #9)
That being said, I can see why it came highly recommended by my eight-year-old. It was an old mystery in an old house, which is really the best kind. So all in all a good installment for adults of a great series for kids.

Gertrude Chandler Warner was born in Putnam, Connecticut, on April 16, 1890, to Edgar and Jane Warner. Her family included a sister, Frances, and a brother, John. From the age of five, she dreamed of becoming an author. She wrote stories for her Grandfather Carpenter, and each Christmas she gave him one of these stories as a gift. Today, Ms. Warner is best remembered as the author of THE BOXCAR
As a 37 year old woman, I hope to not read another Boxcar Children book. But when my daughter hands me a book, says she really enjoyed it, and asks me to read it, Im going to make every effort to read it! So there may yet be more Boxcar Children books in my future. That being said, I can see why it came highly recommended by my eight-year-old.
