Red is definitely my color. Good thing, because in my line of work, I end up wearing it a lot.Most people shy away from blood, but for an assassin like me— Gin Blanco, aka the Spider—it’s just part of the job. Still, it would be nice to get a night off, especially when I’m attending the biggest gala event of the summer at Briartop, Ashland’s fanciest art museum. But it’s just not meant to be. For this exhibition of my late nemesis’s priceless possessions is not only the place to be seen, but the place to be robbed and taken hostage at gunpoint as well. No sooner did I get my champagne than a bunch of the unluckiest thieves ever burst into the museum and started looting the place.
Unlucky why? Because I brought along a couple of knives in addition to my killer dress. Add these to my Ice and Stone magic, and nothing makes me happier than showing the bad guys why red really is my color.

If you haven't well pay attention! ::grin:: At times it's a little over the top because Gin is a dual threat and powerful Stone and Ice Elemental who just happens to own the Pork Pit BBQ Restaurant, has defeated numerous threats to her personal body, and has tried to retire as the assassin known as theTo me this serie stopped when Gin killed Mavis, I mean she was THE villain of the story. I just don't see how you can top that. Now the books keep getting weaker and weaker, I don't understand. What the heck happened with Owen? He was such a strong character at first, loyal, understanding of Gin, accepting all her faults and weaknesses... and now he's just an a**hole. Feels like he doesn't love her, there's no passion, nothing. He wouldn't fight for her, he doesn't get angry or anything either,
Back to the great, interesting series I know and love!I dunno how I managed to skip book number 7, but only when I was about half through this one did I realize that it's not 7 but 8. I loved it! I kind of feel Gin evolving, not just in power (that's to be expected) but in her personality as well. And I like to see something different! I dunno if I can get back to book 7, I got way too many spoilers... But still, it was fun and well, when the previous books were annoying because they kept
This was really good and a bit different. Largely set over one night, Gin has to rescue all her friends from a heist. Here the action is centred on Gin and there is less food involved!
After the events of Widows Web I thought that maybe wed jump into some relationship drama in Deadly Sting right away. But gratefully we didnt. Instead we jump into Gin in a dress shop saving the day with Fin and getting plenty bloody while doing it. Feelings shmeelings we dont need to talk about those.
