This volume is composed of two stories. The primary one is "The Land of Sand." The shorter bonus story is "The Phantom of Warehouse 13." Both of these stories were adapted into episodes in the original anime series. "The Land of Sand": Edward and Alphonse arrive at the dying former gold mining town of Xenotime and are shocked to learn that two boys who say their names are Edward and Alphonse Elric have been living in Xenotime for a while, researching how to make a Philosopher's Stone in orderDecent story, sub-par writing. The illustrations are infrequent but pretty fun.
Not written by the original author, but approved by her.A really cute story for people who like the characters. Feels like another chapter in their timeline that has nothing to do with the main plot.
Dear Science/Chemistry/Physics/Alchemy loversIf you hate anime/manga, that is okay because you will never hate this. This is full of science, adventure, and inspirational messages. In this manga, there are two brothers (Edward an Alphonse Elric aka Elric Bros) who tried to resurrect their mother that's why they want to learn Alchemy. Unfortunately, human transmutation is a taboo because the first and fundamental law of Alchemy is; in order to create something, a substance of equivalent value
F ARAprose companion to Fullmetal Alchemist
Writing was rather weak, but I'm not sure if it's due to the translation. Fun to see Ed and Al again and makes me want to reread the manga. However, while reading, I kept thinking how much better it would be in manga format. So I suppose it did do its job, but didn't add anything to the work as a whole.
Really good! Took me a while to realize it seemed familiar because a couple of the anime episodes were taken from this novel. Funny, just what a needed after reading a sad book!
