Relation To Books I Temporarily Do
A little white lie. A little white wedding. A pair of roommates in over their heads.Days before she's set to move across the country and start a prestigious graduate program, a con artist leaves Emmy with no where to live and less than zero dollars in her bank account. But her day doesn't seem quite so bad compared to Beckett's--his fiancée called off their wedding just days before they tie the knot. Now he's single and ineligible for his place in married student housing.
So what are a girl without a home and a guy without a wife supposed to do? A quickie wedding in Vegas will solve both their problems. It's a business arrangement, and no one even needs to know. They'll just get an annulment in a few months. What could go wrong?
Only Beckett forgot to mention his new apartment is a one-bedroom. And neither of them counted on their new friends at Middlesex University thinking they're a great couple.
The platonic newlywed game might be harder to play than Emmy thought. Especially when it starts to feel less than platonic.
I Temporarily Do is a Stand-Alone Romantic Comedy.

Ahhhhh! This book was so fucking cute! I was going to give it 4.5 stars but I don't even care. I would reread the hell out of this book and recommend it to anybody who loves romcoms. THIS is how you do fake married tropes. Emmy and Beckett were a great pair of characters. They had the background of being friends for a long time, were roommates, and had the same majors. The problem of Beckett's awful fiancee breaking up with him and Emmy's financial issues were laid out immediately. He would loseI love Ellie Cahill and the fake boyfriend/husband trope, so I was all over this book when I saw it. I liked Emmy and Beckett. Theyre both really sweet, good people and I did enjoy seeing their relationship evolve. Plot wise, I would have liked to see just a bit more chemistry from the two of them. Everything moved pretty quickly and I was left wanting in that department. I guess I just wanted more UST. Overall, it was a quick and cute read with a fantastic ending.

No chemistry between the characters. That's the biggest flaw of this book. The fact that they stayed friends for 4 years while he was with someone else should have made me feel alarmed. He was engaged to his first love. He became single only when she left him. Even in their fake marriage, for a long while, they still remained as friends - no sexual tension, no chemistry, no moves...Only after the 75 % of the book, they become lovers but still there is no chemistry at all. Everything feels
Cute, sweet and kinda silly. This was fun :)
Wow just wow. I mean I love fake relationships for a reason. However this book was like somehow different than all the other books I had read like this. I loved the friendship and the pacing. I just loved this wow. Would recommend.
I definitely saw potential in this plotline as I bought this immediately after reading the blurb, but uh, the book itself was boring. There was no chemistry between Beckett and Emmy. It was like a friends-to-friends story. And even if there had been chemistry, there was very little tension or anything keeping these two from getting together except for some manufactured drama and miscommunication at the very end.
