Presenta al igual que los libros mencionados, estilos diferentes en cada capítulo, enmarañando la lectura con referencias a la historia, idiosincracia y cultura popular de El Salvador de los años sesenta.
Prácticamente hay que se salvadoreño nacido en los cuarenta para entenderlo y desternillarse de risa con la monumental carga de humor sarcástico que inyectó Roque a su novela.
Especial atención al capítulo "El Party" donde desarrolla una de las técnicas literarias planteadas por Morelli en Rayuela.
Un gran libro, un poco olvidado, pero siempre vigente.

It was a hard read...reminiscent of James Joyce Portrait of a Young Artist as a Young Man.....and I only read half....but again....I enjoy anything complex and anything by Roque.........

Roque Dalton was born on May 14, 1935, in San Salvador, El Salvador. His father was one of the members of the outlaw Dalton brothers and his mother was a registered nurse whose salary supported the family. After a year at the University of Santiago, Chile, Roque Dalton attended the University of San Salvador in 1956, where he helped found the University Literary Circle just before the Salvadoran



Roque es el hijo pródigo de la poesía salvadoreña, de eso no hay duda.Y la mitificación de su personaje --el escritor guerrillero que fue asesinado por sus propios compañeros-- ha ayudado aun más al gran éxito de este pobrecito poeta. Sin embargo, cuando me dijeron que había escrito una novela simplemente no me lo podía creer. El tópico de que los poetas salvadoreños tienen problemas serios para escribir narrativa se rompió con el anuncio de que el buen Roque tenía efectivamente una novela
