If I could give this book a half star then I would. Big things are happening and the lackluster writing eliminates any possibility of the reader beings pulled in by compelling moments. The constant monotone with which the author writes deafens the emotions that the author says these characters are experiencing. The prologue (written with that same dull tone) foreshadowed the possibly of a battle beyond comprehension which makes sense considering it is book one of "The War of the Gods" series but
