Mrs. Jeffries and the Best Laid Plans (Mrs. Jeffries #22)
I breezed through this book - great for light reading.
Great story, enjoyed every single story in this series.
I enjoyed the characters, and their world and hope I get the chance to read the story again and/or to read more within the series. My Rating System:* couldn't finish, ** wouldn't recommend, *** would recommend, **** would read again, ***** have read again.

I liked this book and the characters, but it's more and more awkward that Witherspoon is unaware that the servants are investigating, and that even Barnes is in the know. It seems like at this point they are so into secretly solving murders that they are doing Witherspoon a disservice - and he thinks he's more talented than he is. If I try to not think too hard about that while reading it is more enjoyable!
Another great book in the series. I highly recommend it.
I love this victorian mystery series. The crew solved yet another murder and it was not who I expected which was a nice twist to things. The end of the book was a twister and did not know what to think at first will not give it away, but makes you want to get the next book and start reading right away which is what I did.
This book is slow going as previous books are constantly and excessively recapped. You figure out who the murderer is long before the characters in the book do, leaving you to wonder if they're idiots. It has a stupid cliff ending which could have been resolved if any of the characters had thought for a minute, however I suppose thinking about the murder wore them out.

This was a really enjoyable, quick read. Inspector Witherspoon is a successfull and respected murder investigator. What he doesn't know is that his housekeeper, Mrs. Jeffries, and his other household staff help him solve his cases by doing their own investigation and dropping him hints. This time, an unpopular banker dies, and Mrs. Jeffries and her team must help the inspector find the murderer before it's too late - and before his nemesis Nivens can take the case away from him.I breezed through this book - great for light reading.
